Omar Marrero is a corporate attorney and the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnerships Authority. He earned a B.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Dayton and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Juris Doctor from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. After completing his Law studies, he passed the Puerto Rico bar exam with one of the most outstanding results and obtained an LLM in Corporate Law from the prestigious University of New York. He is also admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
Marrero has served as a transactional and regulatory attorney in corporate and financial law, capital markets, administrative and contractual law, real estate and successor law, insurance, and government affairs, advising domestic and international clients regarding their operations in Puerto Rico. Most recently as a partner at the local law firm, López, Sánchez & Pirillo, LLC. His experience includes serving as advisor to the Port Authority of the Americas and Port Commission of Mayagüez. He also served as Secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs and in the Board of Directors of the ACAA (Automobile Accident Compensation Administration) under the administration of governor Luis G. Fortuño.
During the past 7 years Marrero has served as Adjunct Professor of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Law offering courses in Corporate Law. He has also offered multiple continuing education seminars approved by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico in the areas of corporate law, liability companies and trusts.
